Five years since first adopting Fargo Systems TOPS transport management system, VKVP Haulage is embarking on the rollout of TOPS…on the go (TOTG) across its 80 strong fleet.

Mark Bennett, operations director of the Felixstowe-based logistics company, says: “Having already embraced TOPS, we believe the advantages of in-cab telematics are considerable, bringing further commercial and compliance benefits to our organisation. Hence, our decision to deploy TOPS…on the go.”

Fargo’s ‘TOPS… on the go’ system will provide VKVP Haulage with market-leading visibility and real- time information, tracking resources and job movements from port or inland hub to the final delivery/collection point. Automatic alerts will be sent to transport planners if delays are encountered and scheduled arrival times cannot be met, driving faster notification to customers and improving overall service performance. Drivers can carry out daily vehicle checks, and defect reporting and receive job information via their smartphones, negating the need for paperwork.

In addition, ‘TOPS… on the go’ will replace the traditional driver timesheet, recording drivers’ hours, expenses and fuel drawn on the device, leading to more efficient fleet management.
